Weird, why are my posts not showing up on people's friends pages any more?... This is a test, of sorts. Lemme know if it shows up on your friends page (but not all at once!).

Seattle-ite friend Ivan and I went to Newport yesterday, and - unexpectedly for me - swam in the ocean. It was cold, took me a while to get acclimated, but after that things were fine. We had found a little trail leading down to the shallow rocky shore off the cliff walk, so we were there alone, while everyone else was on the same bay's sandy beach.

I hadn't swum in the ocean in a few years. It's... I'm going back. This week. Lucky me that it's a good place to get a bit of work done, or work Just Wouldn't Happen.

Update: Okay, alright! Thank you for all the replies. Please don't inform me that you can see this message anymore. Really, all I needed were one or two replies...

Weird. I see this one, just not the last one. Or the one before, for that matter, although I remember it showing up when you wrote it. Maybe it's just not posts that contain "LJ"?

(Dr. Mangosteen looks up from the remains of a particularly fascinating specimen.... the Amazonian Acroslug. It can jump up to a quarter mile in the air, but has no way of actually landing intact. You see him write scribble something like "has no natural enemies.... it's just stupid." in his notebook. He looks up at the screen, sees your message, and responds...)

"got it".

A check of a filtered friends page shows Ocean, Break and So, but not So Much For Willpower. Also, yay Ivan + Ocean!

There's a 'Backdate entry' checkbox which is parenthetically labelled (won't show on friends view). Did you possibly select that checkbox (or the equivalent if using a client)?

Re: update: note that this comment was not a 'me too'. Also, see here (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=91) for more details on the thing I was referring to.

I know. Thank you. I knew what backdating was, and the fact that the two posts in question hadn't shown up on my friends list (I'm on my own friends list, as an easy way to access own entries) had little to do with backdating.

Thank you again, and sorry for the bother.

So, for future reference, what did it turn out to be? (And it was only one post that was missing for me.)
