That last entry sounds amazingly conceited.

Just to clarify: I do not think myself better than the Other, as a person. We are very, very different. Obviously, the way he is works for him. The fact that after all of our history I still care for this person says as much about what I value in myself as it does about my sometime-inability to see people for what they are, and let them be that, when the people in question are this far out of my scope of daily experience. Only human, I suppose.
