veek...in good ways and bad.
Well, the latest is that I just (unwittingly) hurt a friend's feelings, and that sux. I won't go so far as to say that I suk, as I didn't know the circumstances when I made an offhanded remark. But I still have guilt pangs.
In other whoa-worthy news, today I spoke to one of the foremost minds in my field. He is interested in my work. Holy... wow.
Here's the really Keanu part. He suggested that, for my research, I might find this particular set of books very useful. Several hours later I saw those very books on a bookseller's shelf. And paid an ungodly amount of money for them.
I've never paid this much money for any non-electronic object.
On the other hand, these will last me forever, or until the next disastrous fire, and they are beautiful, not to mention - E.V. was right, of course! - wildly useful to me.
Think I'm all shopped out, though.
