veekIs anyone reading this familiar with Georg Lukács, specifically his The Theory of the Novel?
He talks about the epic in there, and - I must be thinking in the wrong direction or something, because everything he's saying is ringing patently untrue. One potential problem is that all I know from the epic genre are Song of Roland, some (not a lot) of The Odyssey, and odds and ends from Eastern Europe.
