Today was full of adventure.

Today, I heard two great conference sessions' worth of papers, and hooked up with a person I look up to for possibly working together.

I had coffee and rather good, unhurried conversation with [livejournal.com profile] trentm, randomly ran into [livejournal.com profile] dr_memory (that rocked! his purple hair matched a bakery employee's purple hair!!), and arranged to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] mustafa tomorrow. This, I believe, fulfills my LJ-quota nicely.

(Incidentally, my ifMUDquota is nicely filled too, and am I ever thankful to three amazing MUDders for their hospitality!)

Saw The Two Towers with people, and hey, it wasn't a waste of time! I mean, Legolas on a Middle-Earthean snowboard. What can go wrong after that?

More city tidbits:

-I love it still.
-This evening got to sit outside for about half an hour, staring at midtown skyscrapers and singing along with Eddie From Ohio CD.
-Ozzie's coffee (on Lincoln Place in Brooklyn) rox.
-Good delis with amazing salad bars also rox.
-Same, but affordable and in midtown rox doubly.
-I don't want to live here anymore, but do want to visit extensively. The more I visit New York, the more Boston is home. But man oh man, there's nothing like this city.

I am high on life and will pay for this with sleepiness tomorrow, but for now just don't care. Tomorrow, one more session, during which I'll hopefully meet an interesting Roland scholar; then more city-traipsing, and in the evening -- home to Providence. It's been a fun trip, though I am looking forward to being home.
